ANCA WR to Host Unprecedented Advocacy Day in Sacramento on April 20, 2015

After an unprecedented legislative year in 2014 for the Armenian American community, activists from across California will join the Armenian National Committee of America-Western Region
(ANCA-WR) and the California State Legislature in commemorating the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide at the State Capitol in Sacramento on Monday, April 20, 2015. The day’s activities will include Genocide commemorative events, meeting opportunities witAdvocacyDay2015h state legislatures, and a powerful Rotunda art exhibit commemorating the Centennial.

“Advocacy Day offers our community members a unique opportunity to be civically engaged and to promote issues of concern before elected officials,” said Armen Garabedian, ANCA-WR Chair of the Government Affairs Committee. The annual event has played a significant role in the state’s continual commitment towards justice for the Armenian Genocide in the State Assembly and Senate Chambers. This year’s Advocacy Day will center around “100 Years of Survival.”
